Respite care is a service we developed out of our TFC program to help support our families. Families parenting a child with special needs can benefit from regular breaks and respite provides that needed break through short term or temporary care.
Adventure Respite monthly trips allow children to camp at CCS’ base camp and participate in outdoor therapeutic activities. CLICK HERE to learn more about this unique program!
Emergency Respite provides families and children relief from crisis situations in the family.
Planned Respite provides regular relief to families and children one or two weekends per month.
Interim Respite provides a safe place for children who are in the process of transitioning to out of home placement.
Crisis Respite offers an alternative to a psychiatric hospital by providing a safe, stable environment for emotionally disturbed children who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
CCS Youth Group offers a break for the foster family (and the foster kid!)
Our respite families are as varied as the children we serve. Some families open their homes just on weekends and others provide care seven days a week. Each family completes more than 40 hours of pre-service training, a criminal records check, a comprehensive home evaluation and additional education on a monthly basis. These respite families offer children the chance to take a break in structured and therapeutic homes equipped to manage many types of behavior.
