Creative Community Services children have a variety of special needs. Some are dealing with childhood trauma related to abuse, violence, parental drug addiction and poverty. Others have developmental disabilities and have problems managing behaviors, struggle in school or need plenty of individual attention. We work with children of all races, ethnicities, religions and sexual orientations.
This is Nikki. Living with autism, she has survived severe abuse and unsuccessful placements in 13 different homes. Nikki is only 11 years old.
Creative Community Services has successfully provided Nikki with therapeutic foster care and home-based support services. By bringing together a team of professionals including case managers, therapists, family consultants, therapeutic foster parents and more, CCS has ensured her a safe and loving home.
As a result, Nikki has lived in the same foster home for two years and is thriving in a special school. She has even started taking art classes.

Michael is a young teen living with his mother in the inner city. In the past he has had difficulty socializing with others and controlling his behavior.
For the past two years Michael has participated in CCS' Adventure Respite program one weekend a month and also has attended the longer trips in the summer. Through this unique outdoor learning experience Michael has gained leadership and social skills that have helped him in dealing with others and improving his behavior.
Both Michael and his mother credit much of his individual growth to the Adventure Respite experiences that allow him to explore the outdoors and learn important social skills under the care of well-trained leaders .
